Top 8 Things To Do Paris

  1. River Cruise on the Seine River

Paris has been hailed as one of the most romantic cities of all-time, newlyweds and millions of tourists flock to the city each year and is the dream destination for many. So why not go full on cheesy romantic in Paris by taking a river cruise at night? Truhfully, during my time in Paris;  it only hit me that I was actually there was when I saw the Eiffel Tower at night. It was raining, windy and cold but the numbness in my fingers vanished at the sight of the most iconic landmark in the world.

     2. Climb to the top of the Eiffel Tower

As we all know, the number one reason people want to go to Paris is to see the Eiffel Tower, so it only makes sense that climbing inside of it is a thing to do. You should know that even though it symbolizes romance and love, climbing the tower is anyhing but. The best view of the city is actually via the second floor of the tower, which is about 600 plus steps high, which means once you get to see the view of Paris from the tower you legitamiely will lose your breath.

     3. Spend the day at Louvre Museum (Mona Lisa)

I never thought I would get as excited as I got seeing the Mona Lisa in person as I did. But then again it’s not everyday you get up close and personal with the most famous and mysterious painting in the world. And even though the Louvre is mostly known as the home of the Mona Lisa; it is actually quite larger than I would have ever imagined. Here you can easily spend hours getting lost in art pieces from many different parts of the world.

    4. Visit the Catacombs

When I first heard about the catacombs of Paris , I thought “Cool, I get to see skulls.” However, within the first few minutes of walking through those long dark corridors underneath the streets of modern Paris; I immediately got the sense that I had entered someplace where even my shadow was unable to be seen. And, it wasn’t until I saw the first section of skulls and bones mounted on top of a hundred more that I knew the place I had stepped into was more than what I had first envisioned, this place was morbid. After walking through the never-ending tunnels of death for ten minutes, I immediately knew I was ready to exit when it hit me that this was everyone’s end.

Truth is, chances are you will never experience anything like this back home and even though death is all that surrounds you while you’re in here; it’s an experience you will never forget.

Lastly, there is a high probability that you will leave those tunnels with a higher appreciation for your life.

    5. Try French cuisine

You can’t go to Paris and not try French food. Make sure to surprise yourself and try something new!

   6. Eat French pastries

The French are famous for their pastries; so sit back and munch on some macaroons. Or if you lack a sweet tooth; dive into a baguette. Either way you’re in France, eat up!

   7. Catch a show at the Moulin Rouge

The French are known for their captivating cabarets and can-can dancing. I hope by now we have all seen Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGreggor in the Moulin Rouge film. But whether you have or haven’t seen the movie; good entertainment is good entertainment and that’s exactly what you’ll find at a live showing at the Moulin Rouge.

The ticket prices can range a little high; but take it from someone who bit the bullet and paid the price- it was worth every cent.

Acrobats, a women swimming with snakes, over-the-top fashion and great talent is just part of the amazing variety show. Simply just being inside the Moulin Rouge is like taking a time machine to 1900s Paris.
